From this video, you can see that the young gerbil relies on its fingers, body skin, and nose/mouth area (pushing) to determine its surroundings.
Sniffing action is not evident (no 'random jerky sniffing action') I also notice that when a gerbil does not know its surroundings, it DOES NOT assume its environment. It will actually turn around on the spot and slowly scratch and move about venturing slowly away from its starting point. |
In this video, I reiterate on the differences and progress of the gerbils. You can also see the movement of the gerbils, to further understand what is being explained. |

This is really interesting!
You can see that the shit that the young pups pass out is orange. This I believe is quite a rare picture. |
We take a close look at how a gerbil has grown since day one.
Observe how the gerbil constantly cleans its nose and mouth area. I believe this action is to remove the substance that it was born with, sticking its eyes, nose and mouth close. BONUS: See how an adult Gerbil can actually jump really high! |
Here, we observe the following points: 1) The gerbils show signs of smelling around. 2) The gerbils eyes are still close, but they are now able to go towards their parents or where they want to go. 3) Their movement can be observed to be controlled and not random. |

Once again, we take a close look at the gerbil pup and how it has progressed since previously. As the fur continues to grow, the young gerbils begin to really take on the looks of its parents. |

In this video, I speak of a general overview of how the young gerbils are. You can see how the agouti coloured ones are always excited and energetic to move about while the lighter coloured siblings are calm and very relaxed . |
